The Android 2.3 upgrade for the Ace has to come from Samsung through official channels — i.e. Samsung’s own OTA (over the air) update.
Before the official update is out, if you try to root the phone or install another version of 2.3 — the warranty will be voided. In case your phone is bricked (software damage) during the process, it will not be repaired under warranty.
To check whether the official update for the Ace is available — look in the settings for ’software update’ (in the about phone section).

Sometimes, software updates are also delivered via Kies (Samsung’s PC software). If you don’t have Kies, download and install it from www.samsung.com (support section ), and then connect the phone to the PC to check for updates.

Microsoft is considering making its own tablet PC the company is working with Texas Instruments and Taiwan-based OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to produce the tablet. Microsoft, meanwhile, hasn’t commented on the reports.

Microsoft is reportedly considering to launch an own-brand tablet PC that features Windows 8 by the end of 2012 with cooperation from Texas Instruments and Taiwan-based OEMs/ODMs, according to sources from the upstream supply chain. However, Microsoft did not confirm the rumor.
Facing Apple’s iOS and App Store successful assistance in helping iPhone and iPad to gain shares in the smartphone, tablet PC and even PC market, while Google has also been working aggressively on developing operating systems and establishing its own supply chain alliance, Microsoft plans to copy its branding strategy from product lines such as Xbox 360, Zune, Kin smartphone and TV, to compete in the tablet PC segment.
Although Microsoft has been seeking business opportunities outside of PC-related markets and is aggressively launching own-brand products, Xbox 360 is currently the only own-brand product line that Microsoft has achieved success, while Zune media player, Kin smartphone and own-brand TVs all had unsatisfactory performance. However, Microsoft is still considering to launch an own-brand tablet PC and is proceeding on a low profile, the sources noted.
The sources pointed out that despite the plans to launch its own-brand tablet PC, Microsoft will continue to push its IDP plans for Windows 8.
As for the reaction from Microsoft’s system clients, the sources pointed out that the system vendors’ dissatisfaction with Microsoft launching own-brand tablet PCs is unlikely to impact Microsoft significantly in the short term.

Microsoft unveils it new web browser Internet Explorer 9 on Tuesday 15 March 2011 at the South by Southwest technology conference in Austin, Texas. Before its official release Microsoft released IE 9 beta version in last September which was downloaded two million times in the first week. Microsoft hoping that the new web browser help them to regain the lost ground from rivals like Google Chrome, Firefox and opera etc. Google chrome’s share rise to 14.6 percent from just 5.1 percent last year.

IE 9 web browser compatibility and free download:
The new web browser IE9 is compatible with windows vista and windows 7. No compatibility with windows XP which is already 9 years old. SO, if you want to experience new Microsoft browser you need to upgrade your operating system. Microsoft says that the device drivers on Windows XP will not be able to cope up with the demands of the new browser. It is really disappointing, because in India most of the desktops are running in XP.
Internet Explorer 9 features:
A lot of the new features added in the browser’s integration with Windows 7. These include the ability to add Pinned Sites, which are basically browser shortcuts that can be pinned to the Task Bar.
1) Faster with performance improvements: The new graphic capabilities and improved performance in Internet Explorer 9 set the stage for immersive and rich experiences. High-definition videos are smooth, graphics are clear and responsive, colors are true, and websites are interactive like never before. Installs faster, starts faster, the shorter, streamlined installation of Internet Explorer 9 is faster.
2) Focused on your websites: The navigational controls in Internet Explorer 9 are streamlined and simplified. The back button is larger, the address bar and search box are combined into one new address bar, and the multiple menus from previous versions of Internet Explorer are consolidated into a single menu.
3) Manage your favorite sites with the New Tab page: Each site’s icon and primary color is used on the New Tab page to help your more easily identify each site, which is helpful when you have many sites to choose from. From the New Tab page you can also reopen closed tabs, reopen your last browser session, or start InPrivate Browsing. InPrivate sessions won’t track page visits in the New Tab page.

4)With Pinned Sites, you can get to your favorite sites directly from the Windows taskbar. By pinning a site, the site is at the center of the experience, not the browser. When a pinned site is launched from the taskbar, the browser frame and navigational controls integrate the site’s icon and primary color, providing an experience that’s tailored to the site you’re viewing. You can also add additional home page tabs for each site you pin. That way when you open a site that’s pinned you can open several webpages or websites all at once. To add additional home page tabs to a pinned site, navigate to the webpage or website you want to add as a home page tab, right-click the pinned website’s icon to the left of the Back button, and then click Add as a home page.
